Prior to 31.5.2, the Windows application launched powershell and attrib by bare executable name from src/main/electron.js. When draw.io Desktop was not already running, opening a diagram from File Explorer made the diagram directory the current working directory, allowing a colocated attacker-controlled powershell.bat or attrib.exe to be resolved before the intended system executable. A victim who extracted an attacker-supplied archive and cold-opened its legitimate .drawio file could therefore execute attacker-controlled code when Local Fonts were enabled or when draft or backup attributes were updated. This issue is fixed in version 31.5.2.","score":7.8,"severity":"high","published":"2026-10-30T19:59:51.737Z","modified":"2026-10-30T19:59:51.737Z","withdrawn":false,"knownExploited":false,"affected":[],"products":[{"vendor":"jgraph","name":"drawio-desktop","platforms":[],"versions":[{"version":"< 31.5.2","status":"affected"}],"cpes":[],"source":"GitHub_M","url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-119333"}],"remediation":[],"references":["https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop/security/advisories/GHSA-qg46-52fx-h7p8","https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop/commit/3fed7ecfa6871d952d9946508ec85739796a59b2","https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop/releases/tag/v31.5.2"],"sources":[{"name":"CVE","id":"CVE-2026-119333","modified":"2026-10-30T19:59:51.737Z","url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-119333"}],"assessments":[{"source":"GitHub_M","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8}],"sourceAffected":[],"observedAt":"2026-10-30T20:24:55.785Z","kev":{"status":"not-listed","checkedAt":"2026-10-31T16:25:31.632Z"},"coverage":[{"source":"NVD","status":"available","checkedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.458Z","attemptedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.458Z"},{"source":"GHSA","status":"no-result","checkedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.180Z","attemptedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.180Z"},{"source":"EUVD","status":"available","checkedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.023Z","attemptedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.023Z"},{"source":"EPSS","status":"no-result","checkedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.065Z","attemptedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.065Z"}],"evidence":[{"source":"ENISA EUVD","id":"EUVD-2026-114398","url":"https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/EUVD-2026-114398","modified":"Oct 30, 2026, 7:59:51 PM","score":7.8,"vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","checkedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.023Z"},{"source":"NVD","id":"CVE-2026-119333","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-119333","modified":"2026-10-30T20:17:07.780","score":7.8,"vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","checkedAt":"2026-10-30T21:15:31.458Z"}],"aiSummary":{"text":"draw.io Desktop versions prior to 31.5.2 are vulnerable to search-path hijacking on Windows, allowing an attacker to execute controlled code when a victim opens a diagram from File Explorer.
